Do Bigfoot Live In Buckinghamshire?

​This is the incredible moment Mrs Jenkins reached for her phone to snap a large bigfoot like creature in a field next to woodland.

This is not the first time she has seen a large fur covered humanoid in the area. About one year ago she thought someone was playing a prank on them when she saw what looked like someone in a bigfoot costume. She was reassured when husband Chris told her local deer hunters nearby sometimes wear ghillie suits. These can make a person look larger than they are and covered in fur.

However what Mrs Jenkins saw around 6pm on Monday the 20th  of August chilled her to the bone. She had seen a large figure from her bedroom window in the field behind her house which backs on to ancient woodland. On seeing the figure she noticed its very large size and unnaturally fast way of moving. She reached for her phone which was on her bed side cabinet and took three shocking images.

‘When I first saw the thing it was walking across the field it walked over to the metal gate and squatted down. It seemed to be looking for something in the wheat like it had lost something It almost looked disorientated and confused swaying from side to side every now and then.

​I raised up my camera and took more pictures. All of a sudden It sensed it was being watched and turned in my direction. It seemed to see me in the window looking at me bluntly it just looked so natural. I could make out its large forehead with deep wrinkles and long muscular arms. It was so huge, I have never seen anything that big walking on two legs!'

'The reality of the situation started to sink in and I started to panic. Suddenly it sprang up making off diagonally across the field. I simply could not believe how fast this thing moved! It moved like lightening but had an effortless glide!

I stumbled around the bedroom in a state of horror panicking. I tried to make sense of what I had just seen. I stumbled around not knowing where I was going or what I was doing. I had my phone in hand and wanted to call my husband but was so terrified I couldn’t operate my phone! I was hysterical I just could not understand what I had witnessed!'

'I know what I saw and just don’t know how it could be someone in a suit. Whatever it was had such a natural feel to its movement. I am sure I could make out a mouth moving and facial expressions. I started to remember strange things that had happened in and around our property. 

Strange howls, screams and growling would sometimes wake us up in the middle of the night. Chickens had gone missing from their enclosure countless times with no clue of the culprit. We did not know if this thing had any relevance to these events but I started to believe there are things out there we don’t understand.'

As unreal as it seems this is not the first time wild men have been seen in the Buckinghamshire Chilterns. The area has an ages old phenomena of the Green Man. It is thought that the Green men of the Chilterns could have been remnants of a population of European wild men.

These Wildmen or Woodwose have been speculated to be surviving Neanderthals or other ancient hominoids. As Woodwose seem to appear in art and literature across Europe it seems likely they could have existed in the Middle Ages. Hilly, wooded areas like the Chilterns could have preserved pockets of these Bigfoot type creatures until fairly recently.

​Place names such as Woodrow with legends of the Green Man of Fingest make it likely Bigfoot did once inhabit the Chilterns. But what about modern times?

The amount of Bigfoot creature sightings in the UK are quite surprising with organised national groups and a flood of media reports.  However believers in the chance there are Bigfoot hidden in the vast expanses of North America find a Uk Sasquatch an impossibility.

With Britain’s high population density and largely deforested landscape it seems impossible Bigfoot could exist here. Some have suggested that sightings of modern day trolls and Wildman could have a paranormal origin. The idea these creatures could be ghosts, shape shifters or inter-dimensional beings is at least a possibility.

Some of Buckinghamshire’s Bigfoot encounters do have a ghost like feel about them.

A story in the Buckinghamshire Star newspaper in September of 1986 writes about one instance of a ghost like huge fury creature. Two motorists were driving down Four Ashes Lane next to Hughenden Crematorium. Suddenly a large ghostly green man rose up from the side of the road. The incident is one of several of its kind within the same area. It happened around midnight exactly the same sort of time as people have sighted the Green Man around the forested hills of Fingest. 

There is some speculation why these Bigfoot type creatures would appear green. Some say moss and algae could build up on their shaggy fur overtime giving them a green hue. Others predict that intelligent wild men would camouflage themselves in vegetation to stay hidden from people.

Other bigfoot sightings and incidences also have been recorded in the Chiltern hills. In the 1980s a school boy and his friends was confronted by a huge Bigfoot creature in woods next to Little Kingshill. In 2012 walkers on the heavily wooded Asridge estate had sticks thrown at them through the woods.

​Loud snarls and growls were heard as sticks tumbled from the deep undergrowth. In 2016 two wild campers were camping on the wooded slopes around Great Missenden. In the middle of the night they woke to find something was throwing sticks at their camp. Intimidated the pair left their tents and never returned.

Whatever Mrs Jenkins saw near her home this week near Lacy Green is not clear. She seems adamant that this creature was something out of the ordinary. It has to be said there are a surprising number of sightings of human like creatures within the hilly areas of the Chilterns, Coincidence?

Surprisingly people in the UK do come forward with sightings of Bigfoot creatures! With a surge in sightings in recent years could it actually be a possibility?
